Presentation
Originally from Iran, Ferri Garcès arrived in France at the age of 18, and was undoubtedly most sensitive to the importance of paper. First letters, then books, which today provide her with a living material. Printed pages or blank papers of different textures, to which she mixes colored inks. Like a link between civilizations, between men and women. Like a message of hope too. The forms she assembles show a path, a furrow, a destiny.
For a long time, Ferri Garcès has been looking for a simple material, as natural as possible, to give shape to what she wishes to express. Paper appeared to her as an obvious choice in the early 2000s. Used for centuries in many civilizations, paper corresponds completely to her artistic identity. It is a return to the sources and to nature. In a world that pursues its escalation to the new, always faster, she made the choice, very early, to go against the current.
